Traditional Thai Massage Thai Massage is an ancient therapy believed to have been developed over 2,000 years ago by the doctor to Buddha, Shivago Komarpaj (Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha). In fact the Thai word for massage is nuad bo-rarn, which means ancient massage. Thai massage is a healing art combining yoga-like positions, acupressure, muscle compression and reflexology to bring about relaxation, stress relief, increased range of motion and improved flexiblity. Some people call Thai massage “yoga for lazy people”. Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor. No oil is used and the client remains clothed. You are welcome to bring your own loose comfortable clothing or use what is provided. It is a full-body therapy beginning at the feet. It is a slow, flowing therapy including muscle compression and passive stretching. At the conclusion of the massage many feel both relaxed and energized.
